Hiya, Healdsburg. Hope you’re enjoying this wondrous post-storm world of gurgling gutters and sparkling trees and floppy wet roses. It still feels a little surreal, after living through our hottest and driest March in recorded history last month — but by golly, we’ll take it. And as you soak in these cool spring sunbeams, I’m here with your handy pocket guide to all the best events coming up on our local calendar, so you can plan your perfect promenade around town this week. Choose from stops like…
A two-theater celebration of director Cameron Crowe’s cult ’70s rock film “Almost Famous,” with Cameron himself in the crowd!
A Western-themed wine “stampede” through Geyserville
Later that night, a barn dance benefitting Future Farmers
A new weekly Chinese-food popup in Healdsburg by Forestville’s favorite (homeless) restaurant, Bazaar Sonoma
A disco dance party at Little Saint, in honor of Earth Day
Lots more local dillies, dallies and deviations to pull you in 🌀
But first, I’ve got a quick ask for this community: Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to make your weekly Healdsburg Event Log more useful to you, K? And if you think of someone else in your life who might be able to use it, by all means, forward them a copy so they can subscribe themselves. Because we all deserve to know what’s going on around here. 💡
NOW, HOW’S THE WEATHER?
Whoever was out there doing rain dances last week… looks like your little plan worked. Our local office of the National Weather Service says we got around 2-3 inches’ worth of April showers from last Wednesday through the end of the weekend. In fact, the SF Chronicle reports this was the region’s “wettest April storm since 2018.” It was also pretty flashy, with some serious lightning and thunder hitting near Healdsburg on Friday, according to the NWS and our local COPE group. “We’re fortunate to have seen this much rainfall as we shift farther into our dry season,” local weather officials posted last night, which “will help [fire] fuels recover after the March heat wave.” These come as very reassuring words — especially after a four-acre wildfire hit just northeast of Healdsburg, two Sundays back (see video below).

Fire officials said the Briggs Fire burned four acres of “steep terrain with heavy fuels” on Sunday, April 5, in a wooded area “to the east of Healdsburg and Geyserville, off Briggs Ranch Road.” (Video: Cal Fire via X)
KRCB news radio likewise ran a calming piece last week on how wildfire risk is back down to normal for this time of year in the North Bay. And rainfall-wise, we’re up to around 80-85% of our average rainfall at this point in the 2025-26 “water year,” according to federal weather watchers. (If you wanna learn more about whether we’ve gotten “enough rain over winter to avoid another drought in Sonoma County,” there will be a county webinar on the topic this Wednesday at noon.) And finally, looking ahead, here’s what the NWS is forecasting for Healdsburg this week:
Today 🌤️ Mix of sun and clouds. High 68° Low 39°
Tomorrow 🌤️ Fog turning to sun. High 69° Low 42°
Wednesday 🌤️ Mostly sunny and windy. High 69° Low 41°
Thursday ☀️ Sunny. High 71° Low 41°
Friday ☀️ Sunny and warm. High 75° Low 42°
Saturday 🌤️ Mostly sunny and warm. High 76° Low 44°
Sunday 🌦️ Partly sunny with a chance of rain. High 66° Low 42°

Right before the rains of this last storm began coming down, early Wednesday morning, the most breathtaking double rainbow formed in the hills the west of Healdsburg. She was flawless. (Photo: Teri Loveland)

This was my view of the same thing from The Bishop’s Ranch out Westside Road — where I was staying all last week, as I tried out a very weird and wonderful type of therapy that I don’t have the words to explain yet. (Note the Canadian goose on the roof of my sleeping quarters, beholding the ’bow!) And if you want more rainbow pics, there are multiple other threads in the “What’s Happening Healdsburg” Facebook group devoted to the Great Double Rainbow of April 2026 — here and here and here — filled with shots from different vantage points across Healdsburg and the surrounding countryside. Enjoy. 🍯 (Photo: Simone Wilson)

Healdsburg Chorus performs 39th annual spring concert at the Raven Theater: “Circle of Life” (Sat-Sun, Apr 25-26, 3pm)

Healdsburg’s hometown chorus puts on two big shows at the Raven each year — one during the holidays in December, and one a few months later, to celebrate the arrival of spring. “Under the direction of David Martin, with Beth Benjamin on piano, the Healdsburg Chorus will be joined by talented local musicians to bring you a heartwarming and festive musical experience” this April, says a chorus rep. Their spring program includes uplifting numbers like “The Circle of Life,” “Shenandoah,” “Look to the Light,” “The Times They Are A-Changin’” and many more. The winter shows sold out early, so grab your spring tickets quick! (Image: Healdsburg Chorus)
