Happiest Saturday, my angels. I’ve battled the warm spring winds boring down on Healdsburg this afternoon to deliver this extra-important edition of our weekly local event log, straight to the top of the collective community inbox — like a modern-day Pony Express cowgirl on a mission. All so I could give you the scoop on small-town happenings like…
First and foremost, our 77th annual FFA parade and fair!
A second round of rosé parties where everyone dresses in pink
A rough-and-tumble Tom Waits tribute band at our local pub
Public meetings on new street art, road repairs and more
A roaring start to outdoor concert season next Friday night
All-American options for Memorial Day weekend here in town
Lots more local gems you might otherwise have missed!
But first, I’ve got a quick update for you on the City of Healdsburg’s hotly anticipated “Tuesdays in the Plaza” band lineup. The 2026 schedule is here at last — for real this time — and it’s looking at least relatively danceable, thank heavens. Some of the names on the lineup include… Norteño group Máxima Frequencia, local country staples Dustin Saylor & The Stowaways, cumbia faves Rocio y Su Sonora, Bollywood bluesman Aki Kumar, high-energy swing band Lavey Smith & Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers, funk/rock/soul outfits like the Ariel Marin Band and Burrows & Dilbeck… plus a few different cover bands (by popular demand, I hear!) playing Beatles and Grateful Dead and Neil Diamond jams. So that’ll be the soundtrack to another season of famously sloppy plaza picnic parties in Healdsburg’s grassy town square, beginning two Tuesdays from now, on May 26. See ya there? 🫡

City staffers actually chose to announce the bands via Facebook Live this year, with all the dramatics of a livestreamed Netflix reality-show reunion; watch their fountainside announcement here. And you can check out this year’s lineup in full on our city website. Will it be enough to get you off your lawn chair on a warm Tuesday evening? Lemme know if you have any particularly potent thoughts or feels about it! (Image: City of Healdsburg)

NOW, HOW’S THE WEATHER?
As I mentioned, we’re currently experiencing a pretty significant “wind event” around here — making for the first risky fire weather of the year, according to forecasters from our local office of the National Weather Service. “Dry conditions + gusty winds = rapid fire spread possible,” they warned yesterday afternoon. “Use caution.” To reduce wildfire risk, the PG&E utility company is even planning some potential power shutoffs over the next few days, which could affect PG&E customers on the outskirts of Healdsburg. So yeah, stay sharp out there, and at the very least turn on your notifications for the Watch Duty fire-alert app! Now without further ado, here’s the full NWS forecast for Healdsburg this week, as the sun keeps getting stronger and temps climb into summertime territory:
Today ☀️ Sunny and windy. High 77° Low 48°
Tomorrow ☀️ More sun, more wind. High 79° Low 52°
Monday ☀️ Sunny and hot. High 87° Low 52°
Tuesday ☀️ Sunny again, and even hotter. High 90° Low 54°
Wednesday ☀️ More sun and heat. High 90° Low 53°
Thursday ☀️ Same deal! High 88° Low 50°
Friday ☀️ Still sunny, but a little cooler. High 82° Low 50°

Cal Fire officials posted this photo of a wind-driven wildfire that they stamped out at just under 10 acres this morning in the hills northwest of Healdsburg, near Lake Sonoma. If you’re interested, here’s the entire Watch Duty report on today’s “Tomb Fire” at Stewart’s Point-Skaggs Springs Road and Tomb Creek Road. I think it’s safe to say wildfire season is in effect for 2026… (Photo: Cal Fire via X)
